Thank you for an amazing VIP Jazz Festival experience.
I’ve attended- and organized- countless large events, so I appreciate the thousands of details- and hours- that go into making an event successful. Yours exceeded my expectations.
From the excellent promotional website and emails to the welcoming event check-in, you excelled.
The VIP accommodations were comfortable (although perhaps you could tell folk to bring their folding chairs). The location was great- we were able to easily view the stage. And- the bathrooms were as clean on day 3 as day 1 (really- that matters).
The food suited a range of tastes, was delicious (yay corn muffins), and it felt like a high-end plated meal- not a buffet. I was late in line one day and the buffet looked as inviting as if I was first in line. Mr. Tuitt managed his staff with a sharp eye and continuously circulated and interacted with diners to ensure that everything was running smoothly.
I had a bit of an issue picking up my gift bag, left a message which was quickly returned and was assured that the bag would be waiting at the event check in. Even though the situation was resolved. Colby Wilson called me to apologize- another example of “over and above” care.
The bar tenders were friendly and efficient, the beverage selection was great and the parking lots were well managed- and so close to the venue!
All the staff and volunteers involved with the event worked tirelessly to make sure it ran smoothly and that guests felt cared for. They seamlessly adjusted to whatever situations (thunderstorms!) arose and stayed focused on the guests’ experience.
Obviously, the event leadership had superhuman energy and organizational skills. I was impressed that even on day 3 staff seemed as energetic as day 1. Don’t know how you did it, but it was noted. Adriane Jefferson and Colby Wilson radiated energy, enthusiasm and competence and were outstanding professionals. I’m looking forward to 2027!

"Colby Wilson is the consummate professional and a master event planner. His attention to detail in planning and execution, paired with his ability to problem solve, make for a flawless event production experience. Working with Colby at the City of Atlanta's Office of Cultural Affairs was both rewarding and enlightening. His ability to manage event logistics and deadlines in the midst of other projects and responsibilities was a direct reflection of his superb talents in task management.
Whether working on a small project or working as an integral member of the Atlanta Jazz Festival production team, Colby expertly managed vendor procurement, artist riders, festival logistics, event permit protocol, artist relations and the production of smaller, ancillary events that catered to an exclusive audience. Colby's expertise in sound equipment and technology proved to add extra value to our team and the talents he brought to the office.
It is rare that anyone crosses paths with an individual that can master so many facets of event production while remaining open to learn and receive new skills and Colby is that individual. The level of service and dependability he brings to any project is irreplaceable."
- Morgan Garriss, Executive Assistant
City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs
“The disaster services department is a quiet, unassuming department most of the time. During those times of great need and great stress are the times when you see the strength of the people that are in this department.
During the fire at Winter Street, I had the opportunity to work directly with Colby on processes that were to be put in place to award grants to those affected. Colby had a grasp of process and obstacles that allowed us to timely construct a process to meet the need. Subsequently, he took the initiative to craft a framework that would allow us to roll out a grant application quickly.
A few attributes that a truly appreciate about Colby, but by no means the only attributes, is his ability to see a process, the underlying details and obstacles, and utilize the information to the advantage of the organization and the stakeholders.”

“Colby has worked for the 5th Ward Cultural Arts District as our Lyons Avenue Renaissance Festival
Coordinator.
While working with us, he improved the efficiency of our planning process by streamlining our committee structure. Eliminating redundancy, and prioritizing key improvement areas. His thoughtful leadership helped to guide our planning structure into a positive and productive team.
His attention to detail and his clear communication style are characteristics that really allow him to shine in our very complex environment. Colby is a bold and creative leader who knows how to lead a team at a thoughtful pace while
taking risks at the right time.”

“My time with Colby Wilson as the former Program Manager for Diversify The Stage Apprenticeship Program was pure joy.
He possesses a strong talent for executing visions in a manner that not only reflects the given directive, but he is also thoughtful in the details that are often overlooked that can make a huge difference for the projects delivery and overall experience.
Colby is also one who is truly dedicated to his community, and passionate about ensuring that everyone in his atmosphere feels valued and appreciated. I would absolutely call Colby for any project that requires a keen eye and intentional curation.”
