Get to know me...

I‌ am Colby Wilson, Founder and Director of Dynasty Creatives.  I am ‌a‌ ‌creative director ‌who‌ ‌creates‌ epic ‌experiences‌ ‌by‌ ‌providing‌ ‌clients‌ ‌with‌ ‌an intentional‌ ‌attention‌ ‌to‌ every ‌minute‌ ‌detail.  Creating an organized plan to execute an artistic mission excites me!

Having‌ ‌earned‌ ‌a‌ ‌Bachelor‌ ‌of‌ ‌Arts‌ ‌degree‌ ‌in‌ ‌Theatre,‌ ‌Dynasty Creatives is‌ ‌the‌ ‌manifestation‌ ‌of‌ ‌all‌ ‌the‌ ‌things‌ ‌I‌ ‌am‌ ‌passionate‌ ‌about;‌ ‌artistic‌ ‌programming with music and style,‌ ‌effective‌ ‌administration,‌ ‌relevant‌ ‌education,‌ ‌strategic‌ ‌organizing‌ ‌and‌ ‌planning,‌ ‌and‌ ‌a‌ ‌platform‌ ‌to‌ ‌engage‌ ‌the‌ ‌community.‌ ‌I’ve‌ ‌always‌ ‌been‌ ‌a‌ ‌teacher‌ ‌and‌ ‌a‌ ‌planner‌ ‌and‌ ‌as‌ ‌my‌ ‌mother‌ ‌states,‌ ‌“He’s‌ ‌been‌ ‌teaching‌ ‌and‌ ‌performing‌ ‌‌since‌ ‌birth‌ ‌really.”‌  I‌ ‌spent‌ ‌my‌ ‌childhood‌ ‌and‌ ‌young‌ ‌adult‌ ‌life‌ ‌performing‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌singer,‌ ‌actor,‌ ‌and‌ ‌model.‌  ‌As‌ ‌a‌ ‌teenager,‌ ‌my‌ ‌interests‌ ‌of‌ ‌being‌ ‌on‌ ‌stage,‌ ‌shifted‌ ‌and‌ ‌I‌ ‌discovered‌ ‌that‌ ‌I‌ ‌was‌ ‌more‌ ‌interested‌ ‌in‌ ‌teaching,‌ ‌programming‌ ‌and‌ ‌the‌ ‌management‌ ‌part‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌creative‌ ‌process.‌ ‌In‌ ‌high‌ ‌school‌ ‌I‌ ‌started‌ ‌my‌ ‌county’s‌ ‌first‌ ‌public‌ ‌high‌ ‌school‌ ‌gospel‌ ‌choir,‌ ‌The‌ ‌Heritage‌ ‌Chorale.‌ ‌The‌ ‌choir‌ ‌thrived‌ ‌which‌ ‌gave‌ ‌me‌ ‌the‌ ‌opportunity‌ ‌to‌ ‌work‌ ‌with‌ ‌various‌ ‌church‌ ‌and‌ ‌community‌ ‌choirs.‌ ‌While‌ ‌earning‌ ‌my‌ ‌Theatre‌ ‌degree,‌ ‌I‌ ‌started‌ ‌working‌ ‌with‌ ‌vocal‌ ‌coach‌, ‌Robert‌ ‌‘RAab’‌ ‌Stevenson‌ ‌of‌ ‌Kimad‌ ‌Productions.‌ ‌Under‌ ‌the‌ ‌tutelage‌ ‌of‌ ‌RAab,‌ ‌I‌ ‌began‌ ‌to‌ ‌learn‌ ‌more‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌beautiful‌ ‌complexities‌ ‌of‌ ‌being‌ ‌a‌ ‌singer ‌and‌ ‌the‌ ‌encompassing‌ ‌process‌ ‌of‌ ‌developing‌ ‌an‌ ‌artist.‌

While in college, I started working with The National Black Arts Festival as the festival manager’s assistant and from that opportunity I learned how to produce various types of events.  I was also able to acquire tools that helped me to master the intricacies needed to execute concepts that could evolve into large scale experiences.

After earning my Theatre degree, I taught English courses and developed a performing arts program at Horizon English in Haining City, China.  After that adventure, I returned to Atlanta to work on the City of Atlanta's Atlanta Jazz Festival (AJF) as the production coordinator.  The AJF was a monumental project that I worked on for several years.  The AJF followed by serving as a history teacher, combined all the things I loved and helped fine tune my skillset.

My work experiences paired with my unwavering passions gave birth to the concepts that make Dynasty Creatives.  To be a young creative professional, I’ve been very blessed to have always worked in fields that have aligned with my passions and that came from a series of opportunities in which people were just willing to give me a chance.  A huge motive behind creating this firm was to secure an integral legacy characterized by providing invaluable opportunities to young professionals pursuing careers in the arts.  Dynasty Creatives is my baby, an arts firm that provides programming and management services; however, I always want clients to walk away feeling empowered and motivated to create their own sense of peace and fulfillment. This work brings me so much peace and fulfillment, I would be remiss to not share the wealth!
